Over the years, LDC has nurtured strong strategic relationships with Vietnamese suppliers, customers and joint venture partners who remain important contributors to our development in the region. Since we first established operations in Vietnam in 1998, we have steadily expanded our business and asset footprint while creating numerous job opportunities for the local community.
We originate, process, merchandize, store and distribute local agricultural products domestically and for export. Arabica and Robusta coffee varieties are the crops we are most active in.

Getting the right product to the right location, at the right time
“From farm to fork” refers to the journey agricultural goods and industrial materials embark on, from their place of origination to the end consumer. The journey sounds simple, but in reality, the supply chain is complex and needs to be managed with precision and care to secure delivery.
Increasing our control over the journey from farm to fork is the way we protect supply. The greater the control we have, the greater the security and value we are able to provide to our customers.
In Vietnam, we invest in processing and logistic assets in strategic locations for each commodity. Specifically, our business focuses on:

We recognize that our activities at all stages of the value chain may have an impact on the environment and on the people who work for us or live near our facilities. As a responsible global citizen, we seek to minimize any negative impact of our operational footprint through sustainable practices in our businesses and industrial operations.
With our farmers, customers and peers, we are building sustainable practices into our Coffee business in Vietnam. We are transparent about our sustainability programs, as we are keen to share our progress and how we overcome challenges, in order to make a positive impact on the local community.
Vietnam is one of the world’s largest coffee producing countries in the world. LDC’s processing plants and facilities are located close to strategic points of origin, facilitating easy market accessibility, and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of our operations.
LDC has been a member of the 4C Association and UTZ organization since 2011. Currently, LDC Vietnam works closely with more than 6 000 farmers, 30 agents and 110 lead farmers in the highlands region on certification programs.
In addition to the 4C Code of Conduct and UTZ standards, we are also investing in models of agroforestry and agrochemical management, as well as harnessing irrigation systems to improve agricultural practices, protect social and environmental values, and increase farming incomes.
Last but not least, LDC Vietnam collaborates with NGOs, roasters and other private companies to implement a variety of sustainability projects that are aimed at combating soil degradation, water scarcity, climate change and hazardous agrochemicals.
