Louis Dreyfus Company started selling grains to China in 1974 and has been an active supplier ever since. We have established strategic partnerships with major domestic feed mills, starch and ethanol producers, wheat flourmills and local trading houses.
Grains highlights
The Grains Platform is one of our oldest businesses in China.
We market corn, wheat, barley, sorghum and Dried Distillers Grains with Solubles from the global origins to major domestic end-users.
We originate wheat and corn from the country’s north-east and North China Plain, and have started merchandizing those products to consumers based in Southern China.
We maintain strategic ties with local warehouses, logistic partners and ports in major producing and consuming regions.
Commodity exchange members
Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) is one of the first few international merchandizing houses with domestic presence in the Chinese grains market. We are also the first multinational company to attain membership at both the Dalian and Zhengzhou Commodity Exchanges.
Top grains supplier to domestic market
Due to the Group’s global presence, we have market leverage and regularly provide price indications from the global origins to major Chinese importers. In recent years we have become one of the top grain suppliers to domestic users.

Prudent risk control measures
We implement prudent risk control measures from origination and storage to distribution and cost management, so as to secure consistent supply of corn and wheat to our customers. We are active members of both the Dalian and Zhengzhou Commodity Exchanges, and apply the experience we have gained from cash business and our analyzing expertise.
