Coffee highlights
Brazil is the world's largest coffee producer
We are among the three largest traders of the Arabica and Robusta varieties
We are strongly committed to sustainability
Brazil is the world's largest coffee producer, and Louis Dreyfus Company is among the three main traders of the Arabica and Robusta coffee varieties. Aware of this important role, our Coffee Platform remains committed to growing the operation in the Country, expanding its participation on the Brazilian domestic market. Our strategies also include increasing exports to meet the global demand for coffee.
The Brazilian production of this commodity accounts for a third of global production, and our company wants this volume to reflect in our customer service worldwide. The Platform has been working to increase the proportion of the exports volume to reflect what is produced in Brazil.
Our Coffee Platform not only remains committed to increasing the export volume, along with the domestic market, but it is also committed to working sustainably, to preserving natural resources, and is constantly evaluating the social and financial impact its activities have on society and on its partners.
In Brazil, we participate in various sustainability initiatives, focusing on quality and on full product traceability. Among them are the 4C, UTZ, Rainforest Alliance, Café Practices, Fair Trade Certification Program, and Certifica Minas checks and certifications, as well as participation in the specialty coffee market, aiming to ensure higher quality production.
