I joined LDC as a Finance Trainee in 2007 with an Economics degree from São Paulo University (USP). Although I had some experience of working in Finance, I didn’t know much about the commodities business when I first joined the company. But once I began learning more about it, I became aware of its importance for people’s livelihoods around the globe. Each particular commodity can have different impacts on several sectors of a country’s economy.
In my position, as part of the Finance Controlling team, I coordinate budget and reforecast processes, as well as handling managerial reporting and financial analysis. I’m also responsible for the monthly taxable income and balance sheet forecast.
Strong analytical skills are vital in this area of the business, as it’s important to act quickly and efficiently. You also need to be comfortable working in a very dynamic, diverse environment where priorities can shift very quickly.
LDC is a fast-paced company and the flexibility and cooperation between functions, platforms and regions ensures it adapts quickly to new market conditions.
